In the district of Neuwied, the Malberg ski hut in the local community of Hausen/Wied has been proving that it doesn't necessarily have to be Switzerland, Aspen and the like when it comes to mountain and skiing leisure activities since 1965. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, District Administrator Achim Hallerbach has now come to the heights of the Wiedtal valley to congratulate hut landlord Jürgen Hühner and his team. The head of the district was accompanied by district business promoter Harald Schmillen, nature enjoyment project manager Jörg Hohenadl and the local mayor of Hausen, Carmen Boden.
The transformation of the hut into a grounded gourmet meeting place is inextricably linked with the name Jürgen Hühner, who has been running the Malberghütte for 24 years now. The passionate restaurateur has earned a good reputation for regionality, quality and culinary creativity far beyond the borders of the Wiedtal with his many years of commitment and his gourmet offerings.
The motto "In the region, for the region, with the region" shaped the Naturgenuss partner early on. The Hausen restaurateur is still passionate about committed, coordinated and specifically targeted joint tourism marketing at all levels: "The motto must apply to tourism in particular: Create instead of manage. Anyone who sits back and takes the popularity of guests for granted will fall behind."
Fun in the snow in Wiedtal - the only reminder of the old days of skiing today is the tower where the lift was located, which was closed in 2012. The opening took place in 1964 with the participation of the famous German ski racer Willi Bogner. The ability to produce artificial snow from the water of Lake Malberg was a first for the region.
