Advertising in the air: Westerwald-Wiedtal hot air balloon takes off

Six people stand next to a green hot air balloon on a paved area with trees and buildings in the background; one person is inside the balloon basket, while the others stand beside it smiling.

It was worth the wait: the new Westerwald-Wiedtal hot air balloon was christened in fantastic weather. Westerwald Touristik-Service and the Touristik-Verband Wiedtal e.V. are sponsoring a hot air balloon. The balloon was ceremoniously christened in bright sunshine by District Councillors Achim Schwickert (Westerwald district) and Dr. Peter Enders (Altenkirchen district), Association Mayor Hans-Werner Breithausen (Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach) and tourism experts Maja Büttner and Florian Fark.

The balloon is branded with the Westerwald umbrella brand logo on one side and the Wiedtal & Rengsdorfer Land brand logo on the other. Pilot Nicholas Seyfert-Joiner also took off on the maiden flight from Montabaur to Elgert to provide the cameras with beautiful pictures. Seyfert-Joiner is the German vice-champion and will be flying the balloon at numerous balloon competitions throughout Germany and also at world championships abroad over the next few years.

The project also includes a suitable trailer to transport the balloon in a similar look. The costs for the sponsorship were partly covered by a ReStart-Tourism grant from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
