Crib donation from the Wiedtal to the Ahr valley

A nativity scene with figurines of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus in a manger, three wise men, a donkey, and an ox, set inside a wooden stable with straw and moss decorations.

When it comes to nativity scenes in Waldbreitbach, people call master nativity scene builder Stefan "Charly" Girnstein. This is also how friends of nativity scenes from the Ahr valley got in touch with the Waldbreitbach Christmas village.

The conversations revealed that many of those affected by the flood disaster had lost their cribs, which are usually kept in cellars. In a collection in the Christmas village, 20 cribs were therefore collected or built at short notice. These have now been handed over to Willi Fergen and Heinz Oldenkott as representatives from the Ahr. The two are involved as helpers in many areas. The nativity scenes from Waldbreitbach are distributed to families in Hemmessen, a district of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. However, some are also set up at the winter meeting points in the Ahr Valley, where people come together to exchange ideas. Everyone involved wants to keep in touch and repeat the campaign next Christmas.
