On Sunday, May 15, 2022, the WIEDer ins TAL cycling day will take place after a two-year break. The L255 state road in the Wiedtal valley will be open to cyclists, inline skaters and pedestrians for 50 kilometers from Neuwied-Niederbieber to Seifen in the Westerwald from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The cycling day takes place in the districts of Neuwied and Altenkirchen. It is organized by the municipalities of Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach, Asbach, Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld and Puderbach as well as the town of Neuwied. They are supported by the Neuwied and Westerwald-Sieg savings banks. The police, emergency services and fire department are on duty to ensure that the event runs safely. The Regio line 131 will not be running on this day. The organizers ask you to wear bicycle helmets for your own safety.
At numerous points along the route, clubs and restaurateurs will set up stands with drinks, barbecues or coffee and cake or open their beer gardens. Children's entertainment, live music and raffles will provide variety. There will be service stations for repairing minor defects, including breakdown assistance and accessory sales. The outdoor pool in the Wiedtalbad in Hausen with its large sunbathing lawn is open. The shuttle bus will not be available this year. The complete program can be found online on the website.
