The LBM is currently renovating the L255 road in the Wiedtal valley between Roßbach/Wied and Arnsau. Due to the complete closure, a detour for road traffic has been in place for several weeks. This also affects cycle traffic in the current 2nd and 3rd construction phases. The Wied cycle path can no longer be used in this area until the construction work is completed in the fall.
The detour for cyclists leads via Masbachtal, Nescher Mühle, Neschen, Rahms and behind Strauscheid back down into the valley to Oberhoppen. The route for cyclists is thus extended from 5 km to a good 9 km with 200 meters of ascent. The route is marked as a cycle path throughout and is also signposted as a cycle route detour.
