The hiking bus in the Wiedtal and Rengsdorfer Land runs regularly from Easter on all Sundays and public holidays up to and including November 1st. Hikers on the Klosterweg can park their car in Waldbreitbach, take the hiking bus to the starting point of the Klosterweg in Rengsdorf at the St. Kastor Chapel and begin their hike there. If you don't want to walk the entire trail, you can also get off in Ehlscheid (tip: barefoot path) or Kurtscheid (tip: viewing tower) and only hike part of the way. Hikers can therefore plan their own time for the trail.
The hiking bus starts at 9:55 am in Breitscheid. In addition to Waldbreitbach and Rengsdorf, it also stops in Roßbach, Niederbreitbach, Kurtscheid, Ehlscheid, Bonefeld, Straßenhaus, at the Westerwaldpark and in Hümmerich. This means that the hiking trails there, especially the Butterpfad, can also be reached with the hiking bus. The fare is only € 3.00 per passenger.
