Over 40 volunteer trail patrons from the municipality of Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach met at the Waldblick restaurant in Oberraden to kick off the year. They look after a total of over 500 km of marked hiking trails in the Wiedtal and Rengsdorfer Land. In his welcoming address, the 1st Chairman of the Touristik-Verband Wiedtal e.V., Mayor Hans-Werner Breithausen, emphasized how important and indispensable this voluntary work is. The well-marked and well-maintained hiking trails are not only used by guests, but of course predominantly by locals.
Managing Director Florian Fark gave an overview of the work of the tourism association in general. Eva Lehna from Westerwald Touristik Service then presented the diverse tasks of the regional agency. In particular the marketing of hiking trails. Finally, trail manager Josef Rüth from the WesterwaldSteig gave an insight into the organization of trail management on the trail.
The trail sponsors also used the evening to exchange ideas with the foresters present from the Dierdorf forestry office and the Fürstlich-Wiedisches Revier. The event ended with a thank-you dinner at Waldblick Oberraden.
