Members of the Wiedtal Tourism Association look ahead

At the general meeting of the Touristik-Verband Wiedtal e.V. in the Thalhauser Mühle, the participants took a look at the upcoming season, in which numerous campaigns and marketing measures are once again planned. At the beginning, Katrin Hoffmann from the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park presented its tasks and fields of action. The action program offers a wide range of funding opportunities, especially in the area of tourism.

The 1st Chairman, Mayor Pierre Fischer, welcomed Pension Wolke 7 Rengsdorf, Ferienwohnung "Fritzchens Quartier" Waldbreitbach, Ferienwohnung Wiesengrund Thalhausen and Mediendesign Siebke Waldbreitbachas new partners. The association now has 122 members.

Managing Director Florian Fark presented the annual financial statements and gave a review of the past financial year. There was a slight decrease of 0.2% in the number of overnight stays, which corresponds to around 300 nights. However, with a total of 147,894 overnight stays, VG Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach is still in third place in the Westerwald. This was followed by a press and advertising review and details on the Christmas village and gravel biking.

In the current year, the association is once again focusing heavily on the topic of cycling. New cycle paths are to be signposted in the VG, eBike rental will start at the end of April and the VG will take part in city cycling from May 3-23. The hiking map will be reprinted in the summer and digital trail management is being examined. The Association of Municipalities Days from June 20-21 will be a highlight. For the tourism sector, there will be a large joint tent on the Wied with local and national partners. Helicopter sightseeing flights on June 21 can already be booked now.
