"What has long been popular with our neighbors in Austria and Italy is also gaining ground here: unencumbered enjoyment of nature with regional products as an instrument of tourism. There are now 90 partners in our important regional network and the level of awareness is growing," says District Administrator Achim Hallerbach, delighted with the popularity of the successful model, for which Jörg Hohenadl from the Economic Development Department and the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park with Managing Director Irmgard Schröer are responsible.
With high-profile campaigns such as Advent on the farms, the Beef Weeks and the regional market, the years of development work are bearing fruit and the commitment of the partners is paying off. Marketing needs platforms - through initiatives such as "Naturgenuss" and "Wir Westerwälder", for example, numerous partners will once again be on site in Wirges at the Landfrauenmesse in April.
"Naturgenuss is now also a permanent fixture at Rheinland-Pfalz Touristik - we are a member of the steering team in the Wine & Cuisine business area. Our message here too: the value of regional products must be recognized even more for tourism," appealed Jörg Hohenadl. "Let's work together to make our region even more important and attractive in the gourmet segment. Regional product diversity is a real tourism factor!"
