New nature park program!

For the 21st time, the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park and the Dierdorf Forestry Office present the varied annual program "On the trail of nature"!

The joint program of the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park and the Dierdorf Forestry Office was presented at the end of February in the "bleib noch" café in Bad Hönningen. The approximately 180 events for young and old show the diversity of our natural and cultural landscape and motivate people to experience nature throughout the year. This year's program includes numerous events on the topics of species knowledge, practical nature conservation, hikes, culinary delights from nature and offers on the topic of health. There is also a range of events and vacation camps for children and young people with the aim of making nature more tangible.

At the nature park's own free events organized by certified nature and landscape guides (ZNLs) and specialist speakers, interested visitors also have the opportunity to take part in guided tours on cultural, historical, geological and ecological topics. New to the program are excursions that focus on the Limes and the life of the Romans. The Dierdorf Forestry Office continues to offer its varied events on the subject of the forest.

"As nature offers the best conditions for children to gain their own experiences, I am delighted that this year's annual program once again offers numerous experiences for children and young people," said 1st Chairwoman Princess zu Wied at the start of the event. Head of the Dierdorf Forestry Office, Uwe Hoffmann, emphasized the variety of events and the multitude of opportunities to "be whisked away from everyday life directly into the fascinating forests, fields, hills, valleys and rivers of our Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park". Both thanked the cooperation partners for their great commitment, without which such an extensive nature experience and educational offer could not have been put together.

Once again this year, Sparkasse Neuwied is supporting the publication of the annual program and the work of the nature park with a generous donation. At the presentation of the new brochure, the first chairwoman thanked the board members of the Sparkasse for their financial support.

From the beginning of March, the calendar of events will be available in paper format from the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park office, all local council offices in the Neuwied district and the Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld local council, the respective tourist information offices, Sparkasse Neuwied branches and the Dierdorf forestry office. All events are published in the calendar on the homepage of Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald e.V. (www.naturpark-rhein-westerwald.de), where the complete annual program can also be downloaded as a pdf file.
