The tourist information center in Waldbreitbach was extensively renovated and refurbished by the local municipality as the owner of the building in 2020. The barrier-free conversion was funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture (MWVLW), which is responsible for tourism. Parts of the outdoor area were financed by LEADER funds. A total of around €350,000.00 was invested. The building, which is over 250 years old, was not only visually upgraded, but also in terms of energy efficiency. One aim was also to preserve the listed half-timbered house for the townscape. The reopening had to be postponed due to the pandemic, but can now take place as part of an open day.
The local community and tourism association invite you to this on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 10:00 - 14:00 at Neuwieder Straße 61 in Waldbreitbach. The official part takes place at 10:30 am. A visit is not only recommended for overnight or day guests. Locals and visitors from the region are also invited to take a look at the new rooms. You are sure to get a tip or two in the form of excursion brochures or from the staff.
