On October 3, the Wäller Spendenwanderung took place - an event that combines the joy of hiking with a commitment to charitable projects in the region. Organized by the Sparkassen Westerwald-Sieg and Neuwied in cooperation with the Westerwald Touristik-Service, the event invited hikers of all ages to hike through the region and do something good at the same time.

A total of six hiking routes were offered in the three districts, which were suitable for both experienced hikers and families with children. From the challenging Wäller Tour Druidensteinwanderweg with 15.7 km to the shorter Kleiner Wäller Zwergenweg 2 with 4.5 km, there was a suitable route for every fitness level and interest.

Each participant received a donation coupon worth 10 euros at the end of their hike. These coupons could be redeemed on the WirWunder or Heimatleben platforms for local charitable projects. The event attracted a total of almost 650 participants, with the most popular being the Zwergenweg in Rengsdorf with around 200 visitors. The combination of nature experience, community and social commitment struck a chord in the region.
