The three climatic health resorts on the Wied - Niederbreitbach, Waldbreitbach and Roßbach - have once again been awarded the title of "climatic health resort". All three towns passed last year's measurements of dust, particulate matter, soot, pollen and nitrogen. They can therefore continue to bear the title until 2031.
The quality standards of the state-recognized tourist awards are regulated by the State Health Resorts Act. Recognition requires a therapeutic climate suitable for promoting health, sufficient air quality and a preferred scenic location. Accommodation and catering businesses, an appealing local character and, of course, the aforementioned air hygiene report must also be proven.
Around 20% of all overnight stays in Rhineland-Palatinate take place in spas and health resorts. This figure makes it clear that these places are particularly important for tourism. Visitors will find both health-oriented offers and a diverse tourist infrastructure here. The benefits for guests include strengthening the immune system, alleviating respiratory and cardiovascular complaints and providing an ideal environment for stress reduction and regeneration.
"And, as always in tourism, the local population also benefits greatly from this. The renewed certification of the three climatic health resorts on the Wied is one of many building blocks in our tourism orientation," said Mayor Pierre Fischer at the presentation of the certificates to the three local communities.
