The 30 most beautiful favorite places for far-reaching views and vistas in the district of Neuwied as a new brochure. Admittedly, there are far more than 30 beautiful places in the district of Neuwied from which the visitor's eye can wander into the far distance. However, the selected stops undoubtedly offer enjoyable views with added value and are therefore among the most beautiful vistas that can now be discovered via the new publication. "With the Westerwald, the Wiedtal and the Rhine Valley, the district of Neuwied has a perfect topography that offers plenty of wonderful views and vistas. As a low mountain range landscape, the area is characterized by extensive forests, lush meadows and valleys, some of which are deeply incised. However, there are also wide heights, striking mountain peaks and rocky spurs that require courage to climb," emphasizes District Administrator Achim Hallerbach.
The view from the Erpeler Ley, the Rheinbrohler Ley or the Nürer Kopf in Leutesdorf with its vineyard swing over the Rhine Valley and its neighboring regions is majestic. The views from former volcanic mountains such as the Roßbacher Häubchen or the Bärenkopp with the Weißes Kreuz, down into the Wiedtal and over its heights, are sometimes dizzying. "No less adventurous are the Hölderstein with its via ferrata high above the Grenzbachtal valley, the Mettelshahner Schweiz or the Weißenfelser Ley near Neustadt (Wied). Here and there, castles crowned by rocky spurs, such as at Isenburg Castle and Hammerstein Castle ruins, or castle terraces, such as at Arenfels Castle, invite you to linger and take a look around," says Jörg Hohenadl from the Neuwied district's business development department, describing the special places in the district.
