Current projects and upcoming activities in tourism were the focus of the latest meeting of the tourism working group in the district of Neuwied, which is organized by the WFG business development agency. In addition to organizational topics, the focus was on a special place on the Neuwied Rhine front: the dyke crest.
The members of the working group were welcomed on site by Fabian Kochmann, who is currently developing a new museum concept for the city of Neuwied focusing on flood protection and climate issues. The Deichkrone, a striking building on the Rhine promenade, has been empty for several years and is to be filled with life again from 2029.
Another focus of the meeting was the preparation of the next tourism network meeting, which will take place on April 28, 2026 at the campsite in Leutesdorf. New ideas for joint pleasure hikes with partners of the Nature Enjoyment Network were also discussed. Photo: Anja Aarenz / WFG Neuwied
