Trends and opportunities in tourism discussed

At the latest network meeting of the economic development agency's tourism working group at the campsite in Leutesdorf, everything revolved around trends and future topics in tourism. After a welcome address by Anja Arenz from the district economic development agency and Mayor Jan Ermtraud, the event focused specifically on the impressive growth rates and increasing diversity of campsites as well as the immense importance of digital visibility for tourism service providers.

Regardless of the actual network meeting, District Administrator Achim Hallerbach referred to corresponding declarations of intent from Mainz: "In the coalition agreement, the new state government has stipulated, among other things, that the tourism strategy will be evaluated, further developed and consistently implemented. Digital tourism platforms are to improve the networking of offers and increase visibility. We are taking the grand coalition at its word and will continue to accompany its work in a critical and constructive manner," said District Administrator Achim Hallerbach, extending the tourism arc beyond the event and the day itself.

At the actual network meeting, the example of the Leutesdorf campsite was used to show how guests' needs are changing and what role digital solutions play in everyday life. In addition, Stefan Jedele from Romantischer Rhein Tourismus GmbH explained the importance of open data, online bookability and strategic visibility as success factors for future offers and services in tourism.

Following the technical program, the participants took the opportunity to exchange ideas and network. The event concluded with a visit to Hubertusburg Castle at the Rebenwächter winery.
