The two Wäller tours Bärenkopp and Klosterweg in Wiedtal and Rengsdorfer Land have been certified for a further three years. The 11.6 km long Bärenkop around Waldbreitbach and Verscheid was awarded the seal of approval as a "Quality Trail Hikeable Germany" by the German Hiking Association. The 17.8 km long monastery trail between Rengsdorf and Waldbreitbach has been classified as a "Premium Trail" by the German Hiking Institute.
The markings and signposting are exemplary and still guarantee that the paths can be found safely in both directions. "Our thanks go above all to the volunteer trail patrons Liane Viebahn, Dieter Kröll and Wilfried Dietz, who are often out and about carrying out checks. Also to the municipalities and foresters who share responsibility along the routes," says Florian Fark, Managing Director of Touristik-Verband Wiedtal e.V.
The certified hiking trails throughout the Westerwald are in high demand, especially in times of coronavirus. In April, the hiking bus will also start again, which will take you on these two tours.
