Westerwald Touristik-Service has set a milestone in digital tourism by developing the new website www.westerwald.info in collaboration with the renowned agency Page & Paper from Hachenburg. This website marks not just a relaunch, but a comprehensive redesign of the online presence to offer guests and residents of the Westerwald a modern, interactive and informative experience.
The particular strength of the new website lies in its integration of an innovative data hub module, which was developed in collaboration with the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Westerwald is the first region in Rhineland-Palatinate to integrate this module into its website. This pioneering technology makes it possible to seamlessly integrate all information from the Deskline booking system and the Rhineland-Palatinate tour planner on the website. This means that tourist offers, events, accommodation, activities as well as hiking and cycling tours from the Rhineland-Palatinate tour planner are bundled together to offer guests a comprehensive service directly on their own website.
"With the integration of the Rhineland-Palatinate Data Hub module, we are setting new standards in digital tourism for our region. Guests can now find all relevant information first-hand on our website, which makes their travel planning and experience much easier," said Annika Kaufmann, responsible for online marketing at Westerwald Touristik-Service.
The new website was developed as part of an existing multi-site system that already links five regions of the Westerwald - Hachenburger Westerwald, Wiedtal, Montabaur, Westerwald-Sieg and Kannenbäckerland. This system has been adapted to the current digital requirements of destinations and enables a uniform layout and a common structure for the entire web presence of the Westerwald Touristik-Service.
The main page of the Westerwald Touristik-Service is already live, while the pages of the five regions will follow with the same layout and structure.
The Westerwald Touristik-Service would like to point out that the website is still subject to constant adjustments in order to offer visitors an optimal experience.
