The coronavirus pandemic has shown how important our rural areas are for society. It is crucial to work together to counter structural change in the municipalities with holistic solutions. The successful networking at regional level to strengthen our Westerwald region is to be supported by the Westerwald Conference on 19.4.2023. "Together with the people of the Westerwald, the joint initiative of the three districts called "Wir Westerwälder" (We Westerwald) aims to actively develop and shape the future of the region," said the three district administrators Dr. Peter Enders (Altenkirchen), Achim Hallerbach (Neuwied) and Achim Schwickert (Westerwaldkreis). All citizens are called upon to contribute their thoughts and ideas to the current process. Anyone who would like to actively shape the future of the region can register for the Westerwald Conference and thus for one of the workshops held that evening. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 6.30 pm in the Bürgerhaus Wirges.
In five workshops, the participants will address the question of which projects and measures should be implemented in the coming years. The focus will always be on the further development of the region in order to make the three districts even fitter for the future. Numerous strengths and weaknesses can be discussed and summarized here in a joint exchange from the different perspectives of local stakeholders from various areas of the region. In addition, it is important to the organizers that concrete projects are derived that can be implemented together in the coming year.
On this evening, a fine Westerwald gourmet market will also be held in the foyer of the community center. Westerwald producers of regional products and local restaurateurs will present themselves and their culinary highlights.
