The VOR-TOUR der Hoffnung is looking forward to the days in August when the 25th anniversary tour, which was canceled in 2020, finally gets underway. Idealistic citizens, well-known athletes, politicians, managers and doctors will once again be pedaling hard for children with cancer and children in need. Many towns, communities and localities want to do their utmost to make the event a "celebration of help". The VOR-TOUR cyclists have raised over 5.7 million euros in donations in recent years. The money goes to the children cent for cent without any deductions. "With the 25th charity bike tour, says organizer Jürgen Grünwald, we want to set an example that humanity does not freeze to death and that intensive cooperation for the benefit of children can be sustainable."
The 340 km long charity bike tour with appealing altitude meters starts the prologue on August 7 in Cologne on the grounds of the children's clinic Amsterdamer Straße. Stops on this day include Bensberg Castle, Troisdorf, Brühl and Cologne Cathedral. On August 8, emotional stops are planned in Bornheim, Bonn, Rheinbach, Ahrweiler, Sinzig and Bad Breisig. The day's destination with a major event is the central square in Koblenz.
On Tuesday, August 9, the tour will then travel to the district of Neuwied: to Niederbieber, Waldbreitbach, Neustadt/Wied, Buchholz/Ww. and Engers Castle. Former high bar world champion Eberhard Gienger will be demonstrating his spectacular parachute jump at the stops in Waldbreitbach and Engers! The stop in Wiedtal is planned for 11:00 a.m. and will last about an hour. In addition to music and speeches, clubs, kindergartens and schools will provide a great welcome for the cyclists. All citizens are invited to attend the stop as guests.
