Holidaymakers who come to the Neuwied district have little interest in administrative boundaries. Instead, they want to have as many options as possible for their leisure activities in the entire region. This is why tourism professionals in the Neuwied district regularly come together for network meetings. This round has now been extended to include tourism service providers for the first time. Hoteliers, owners of vacation apartments, restaurateurs and event providers came together at Schloss Arenfels to get to know each other and network.
"We want to encourage our stakeholders from the broad field of tourism to exchange ideas and combine their services," explained District Administrator Achim Hallerbach in his welcoming address, making it clear that tourism experts from regional agencies, municipalities and local authorities can only ever market what is visible and powerful enough.
A discussion round with Kristina Neitzert from Romantischer Rhein Tourismus GmbH and Maja Büttner from Westerwald Touristik Service took up a central point. They emphasized the importance of creating attractive offers and presented existing digital databases and information platforms that providers and tour operators, as well as municipal tourism departments, can use.
"Enriching your own offer with matching experiences, excursions or gastronomic delights and thus putting together extended attractive packages is an essential prerequisite for better tourism marketing in the region," says Anja Arenz, project manager for tourism at the Neuwied district economic development agency. The participants of the extended network meeting were very satisfied at the end and made it clear that they would like to see such a platform regularly in the future.
