Fair in Waldbreitbach starts on 18.8.22

A crowd of people stands facing a brightly lit stage at a concert or event, with warm, golden light filling the scene and silhouettes of attendees visible in the foreground.

Every year, the "Gemütlichkeit" Waldbreitbach bachelor club organizes the fair in Waldbreitbach, which is known far beyond the district boundaries. It is so well known because the large fireworks display "Wied in Flammen" has been attracting thousands of visitors to the heart of the Wiedtal valley for several decades. The fair is planned and organized by the Junggesellenclub itself. Many volunteers from all over the village support the bachelors on this traditional weekend. The club consists of over 40 active members ranging in age from 16 to 50. However, this man-power is also urgently needed to put on such a funfair every year.

This year, the Junggesellenclub decided at a general meeting not to go ahead with the "Wied in Flammen" fireworks display and the associated set-up on the Wied this year. The main reasons for this decision were the planning uncertainty and the resulting immensely shortened planning time after the pandemic regulations were only lifted in April. As a result, the entire fairground event will take place around the marquee this year. Guests can look forward to an eventful fair with lots of great music acts.

The fair starts on Thursday, 18.08.2022, with the collection of the fair tree and subsequent serving of drinks at "Roter Platz" from 19:00. The tree is put up on the Friday of the fair. Afterwards, the bachelors invite you to a party in the tent. On the following Saturday, August 20, the day starts with stag and hen games and bar in front of the tent. From 18:00, the fairground tent opens its doors and the bands "Pop nach 8" and "Sixbit" will rock the tent for over 6 hours. On the Sunday of the fair, which traditionally starts with the church service, there is a morning pint with Wiedklang. In the evening, the Stan-Glogow-Band, known throughout Germany, invites you to dance.

The fair ends with the grand finale on Monday. After another morning pint, it's back to "Kölsche Tön" in the fairground tent. This year's line-up includes Cat Ballou, Björn Heuser and De Pänz! Advance ticket sales for the concert evening have already started.
