Regional market Naturgenuss Rhein-Westerwald attracts visitors to Neustadt

Perfect autumn weather with almost late summer temperatures accompanied the market premiere of the regional initiative Naturgenuss, which has been running as a network and marketing project since 2019. Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald and the Neuwied district's business development agency are the initiators of the organization team and also the point of contact for regionally aware restaurateurs, agricultural producers and manufacturers. Over 50 businesses are now organized through Naturgenuss. Together, they want to draw consumers' attention back to local quality products and at the same time increase appreciation for good, regionally produced food and genuine craftsmanship.

To achieve these goals, around 30 network partners launched the first Naturgenuss regional market in and in front of the Wiedparkhalle in Neustadt (Wied) on October 16. District Administrator Achim Hallerbach opened the regional market and described the particular importance of regional products for a more sustainable way of life, a liveable and lovable homeland and attractive tourism. He referred to the current challenges for producers and restaurateurs, which also influence the sales and turnover of regional products. All the more reason why the Naturgenuss Regionalmarkt is a good opportunity to bind consumers more strongly to the good regional products on offer and to raise awareness of them, said the head of the district.

The regional market launch was a complete success for everyone involved. Many exhibitors particularly praised the unexpectedly high number of visitors, the interested public, the good discussions and, ultimately, the sales. Visitors and exhibitors can look forward to a new edition next year.
