Network in tourism continues to grow

Tourism is a significant economic factor in Rhineland-Palatinate with high value creation rates. Reason enough, therefore, to develop approaches for action in line with the motto "Together we are stronger".

To this end, there is a tourism forum in the district of Neuwied under the umbrella of the Economic Development Agency (WfG). More than 40 participants recently accepted the invitation to the latest exchange at the seminar house and school hostel Haus Niedermühlen near Asbach, the third meeting in a row since the start last year.

The focus of the meeting was initially on funding opportunities, which are also relevant for the two LEADER regions "Raiffeisenland" and "Rhein-Ahr" in terms of tourism. Activities relating to the "Wir Westerwälder" community initiative were also discussed.

The second part of the agenda was then reserved for personal exchanges and getting to know each other. Some participants also took the opportunity to introduce themselves and their offerings to the other guests as part of a small marketplace.

"The next network meeting will take place in the fall. Then it will be thematically and informatively about the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park and the regional project Naturgenuss-Partner," said tourism promoter Anja Arenz, outlining the way forward, which for the district administrator must always be results-oriented: "Networking alone is an end in itself. Setting concrete and feasible goals and then implementing them is the consequence of the guest's expectation of an intact, authentic and sustainable tourism infrastructure," said Achim Hallerbach.
